Transport bosses have issued a fresh warning following the return of a scam Facebook page hoping to dupe Darlington residents out of money for a fake travel card.
The page, named 'Public Transport in Darlington' was created on September 15 and advertises a fake Arriva bus travel card for six months with a small price tag of just £1.
Users are encouraged to click a link and answer questions including 'Do you know Arriva?' to get the card or call a Vietnamese phone number.
This is now the third page of its kind to be created this year alone - as Arriva bosses say new pages are being created targeting many bus companies.
An Arriva spokesperson said: "We have followed the recommend reporting protocol to stop these scams using the Arriva brand, however like so many other bus operators that have been targeted in the past 12 months new pages are being created as soon as the old ones have been taken down.
"We regularly post on own social media to warn customers of incorrect ticketing information being shared on social media and reiterate that we never facilitate ticket sales or offers on social media.
"We advise our customers if they see an offer like this, please do not click on any links and report the post in the usual way."

The Northern Echo previously reported how two pages created at the end of March also used pictures of Arriva buses on Tubwell Row in the town centre to advertise the scam.
Following several reports, social media giant Facebook claimed the pages did not go against their "advertising standards" and they later disappeared.
It is not known how many people may have been affected by the scam - but some bus users commented on a previous page that they "never got" the card, as other Darlington residents tagged their friends and family to take advantage of the offer.
