Manchester Arena bomb plotter Hashem Abedi will appear in court today accused of attempted murder after an alleged attack on prison officers at a County Durham jail.
Abedi is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Thursday (September 18) charged with three counts of attempted murder.
It comes after after four prison officers were taken to hospital from maximum security facility HMP Frankland on April 12.
The 28-year-old also faces one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of unauthorised possession of a knife or offensive weapon.
It is alleged the officers were attacked with hot oil and makeshift weapons in an ambush.
