Three people have been taken to hospital following a crash between a Tanker and an Uber on a main road in Darlington.
The rush-hour collision saw police, paramedics and fire crews called to the scene on West Auckland Road, in Darlington, at around 4.50pm yesterday (September 16).
Durham Police has confirmed that the passenger in the Uber was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, for treatment.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The drivers of the tanker and taxi were also taken to hospital, but are not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) confirmed they sent two fire engines and attended for over an hour.
A police cordon was erected and the road was closed for several hours while vehicles were recovered.
Pictures from the scene show debris across the street with both vehicles sustaining damage.
A recovery truck was seen arriving at the scene at around 6.10pm.
North East Ambulance Service confirmed they took two patients to James Cook University Hospital, after dispatching two ambulance crews to the incident.
A Durham police spokesperson said: "Police were called just before 4.50pm yesterday (September 16) to a collision on West Auckland Road, in Darlington, involving an HGV and a taxi.
"The passenger in the taxi was injured and taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, for treatment. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
"The drivers of the HGV and taxi were also taken to hospital, but they are not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
"The road was closed for several hours while the vehicles were recovered."

A CDDFRS spokesperson added: “We were called at 4.51pm yesterday (September 16) to a two-vehicle collision involving an HGV and a car on West Auckland Road in Darlington.
“Two fire engines from Darlington Fire Station attended and made the vehicles safe before leaving the scene at 6pm.”
A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on West Auckland Road, Darlington, at 4.46pm on Tuesday, September 16.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews to the incident and two patients were taken to James Cook University Hospital."
