Dramatic pictures after crash between Tanker and Uber in Darlington

Emergency services are dealing with a rush-hour smash involving a tanker and an Uber.

Police, paramedics and fire crews are at the scene on West Auckland Road, in Darlington.

A police cordon has been erected and the road has been closed.

Pictures taken at the scene show debris strewn across the street with both vehicles sustaining damage.

According to witnesses, there are four police vehicles, two ambulances and two fire engines in attendance.

It is understood the crash happened at around 5pm - although this has not been confirmed by emergency services.

A recovery truck arrived at the scene at around 6.10pm and it is believed nobody has been seriously hurt.

One witness said: "The road has been cordoned off after a crash between a tanker and an Uber.

"There are four police, two ambulances and two fire engines here. There's skid marks across the road."
