Darlington's Tees Cottage Pumping Station welcomed the steampunk community this weekend for its fourth consecutive year.
The annual festival, which returned this weekend (September 13 and 14), promised to be a 'thrilling' event with a host of activities - from stalls selling steampunk clothes and accessories, to food and beverages provided by the Tees Cottage Tea Room.
Steampunk followers showcased their fabulous costumes and celebrated this sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction in the pumping station's Victorian setting.
Dating back to 1849, the Tees Cottage Pumping Station revolutionised the water supply to Darlington by offering cleaner, piped water to homes and businesses, which had previously relied on contaminated ground wells, polluted rivers, and rainwater tubs.

In 1851, recognising the health benefits of a clean water supply, the customer base was extended to also supply Stockton, Middlesbrough and Yarm.
People weren't put off by the bad weather as crowds flocked to celebrate, decked out in their finest steampunk gear to take part in the weekend.
The venue's working historic beam engine, boilers and gas engine, as well as the smithy, provided the perfect backdrop for the steampunk community.
