Residents across North Yorkshire, County Durham and parts of the North East are being advised to expect increased aircraft activity later this month.
From September 15 to October 3, RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire will serve as the central hub for Exercise Cobra Warrior, a complex interoperability and training mission involving fast jets, transport aircraft, and support helicopters.
The exercise will see participation from several allied nations, including the German Air Force, Italian Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Navy and the United States Air Force, alongside the Royal Air Force, British Army and Draken Europe.
In total, up to 90 military aircraft will take part.
Although RAF Waddington will serve as the main operating base, aircraft will be flying extensively over the North East during the exercise.
Draken Europe’s fleet, operating out of Teesside Airport, will also play a supporting role.
Local communities are being reminded that some sorties may occur into the evening, with higher-than-usual aircraft activity expected throughout the training period.
A spokesperson for the RAF emphasised that Cobra Warrior is a crucial opportunity for the UK and its partners to strengthen cooperation, develop tactics and ensure readiness in multinational air operations.

"Up to 90 military aircraft will be involved in the exercise.
"Local communities should be aware that there will be increased aircraft activity, including some later than normal flying into the evening, during this period."
