Middlesbrough father and son accused of supplying cocaine

Craig Turner Junior and Stephen Garbutt have admitted their role in the conspiracy but Turner senior has entered a not guilty plea to the charge when they appeared at Teesside Crown Court.

All three are accused of supplying the Class A drug between January 2 and June 24 this year in Middlesbrough.

Turner, 23, of Siddington Walk, Middlesbrough, was remanded in custody until his sentencing date.

Forty-one-year-old Garbutt, of Langridge Crescent, Middlesbrough, was released on bail until his sentencing hearing.

Anthony Pettengell, prosecuting, requested a mention hearing take place on September 2 for Craig Turner Snr’s case to be heard again.

The 44-year-old, of Marton Road, Middlesbrough, was remanded in custody until the date of his trial on December 9.

Recorder Mark McKone KC said: “Mr Garbutt you pleaded guilty and will be given significant credit for your plea, but you appreciate this is a serious offence which usually carries a prison sentence.

“I’m ordering a pre-sentence report to be prepared and if you miss your appointment, it is likely to be your fault, and you could be sentenced without one.”
