A brand new hair salon hoping to become a pillar in the community has opened in a County Durham industrial park - take a look inside here.
After months in the making, The Hair Cove in Dragonville Industrial Park finally opened its doors on September 13.
Behind the new venture is Abigail Overend, who jumped straight into the industry with an apprentiship in Darlington as soon as she left school seven years ago.
But now, the 22-year-old is hoping to strike out on her own and make a name for herself and her brand and one day be "more than just a hairdressers".
Abigail told The Northern Echo: "After I left my apprenticeship, I went mobile for a bit and then my parents, who have their own businesses, suggested to me why don't I set up my own.
"It just took off from there. We set up in Durham because I live nearby and many of my clients are from Darlington, Newcastle and Durham so it made sense to be based here.
"It's so central to the A1 and accessible for all of my clients."
After getting a hold of the unit in June, Abigail took 12 weeks to transform the space into what it is now.
The chique and bright salon, offering classic cuts, blowdrys, and colours has been transformed from an empty unit into a modern and spacious base complete with greenery draped from the ceiling.
Abigail added: "Everyone has been loving it, our main focus at the moment has been on one to one appointments so we can make it really personal.
"I feel very proud to have my own business. At times it does get stressful but because I'm so passionate I want it to succeed.
"I want to train stylists and have clients come in and say they feel relaxed. One of my stylists went to London Fashion Week was amazing.

"I also want to partner up with the community and have someone come in and have a full re-style for free.
"I'm trying to create something that's more than just a hairdresser. I want to be a brand in the North East. I've got the passion - I want it to work."
As for what the future holds, Abigail is hoping to expand and take on some new stylists as well as an apprentice one day.
She added: "I have a list of hundreds of things I want to do and need to create some mood boards to think about where we'd like to be in a year or five years time."
