Søstrene Grene 'opening soon' at Gateshead Metrocentre

Signs have gone up for a brand new home and lifestyle store set to open at the Metrocentre.

Scandinavian-inspired global brand Søstrene Grene will latest addition to the Blaydon centre's malls, with signs say it is 'opening soon'.

The Danish brand has stores in 14 countries and will open its second in the region in a 5,000 sq ft Green Mall unit, opposite Next.

Shoppers can expect a range of home décor, furniture, crafts, and seasonal gift ideas as is on offer at its Eldon Square site.

Bosses previously indicated the new shop would open this autumn - but no opening date has yet been revealed.

Mikkel Grene, co-owner and CEO of Søstrene Grene, previously said: "We are delighted to be opening a store at the Metrocentre.

"We opened a store in Newcastle last year and have been warmly welcomed by customers who have shown great interest in our products which are inspired by Danish design tradition – at affordable prices.

"So, we are very much looking forward to being able to invite even more customers to explore the wonderful world of Søstrene Grene."
