Teen in hospital after suffering 'electric shock' at farm near Seamer

Police, paramedics, and two air ambulances were called to a farm in the Holme Lane area, near Seamer, after an incident just before 5pm on Tuesday (July 29). 

The teenager suffered suspected electric shock injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. 

North Yorkshire Police confirmed two men, aged 47 and 71, have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody for questioning.

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Shortly before 4pm our critical care team received a request from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to attend an incident in Seamer.

(Image: NORTHERN ECHO) "We had a doctor and two paramedics respond and they arrived on scene at 4.16pm. Our team assessed and treated a patient before airlifting them to hospital in 16 minutes."

A police spokesperson added: "If you witnessed the incident, or were in the area at the time, please call North Yorkshire Police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service said in a statement: "We received an emergency call at 3.45pm yesterday afternoon (29 July) to report an incident on a farm in the Stokesley area. Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance Service resources attended the scene and one patient was conveyed by air to hospital."
