Armed police swooped on a County Durham house after reports a man was wielding a knife.
Pictures seen by The Northern Echo show uniformed officers and armed police on Leazes Lane in St Helen Auckland at about 5pm on Friday (July 11).
Police cars were seen stationed in the middle of the road with residents asked to avoid the area.
Durham Police has confirmed a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of affray and later bailed.
An investigation is ongoing.
A force spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly before 5pm on Friday, July 11 following reports of a man with a knife in St Helen Auckland.
“Armed officers attended and arrested a man in his forties on suspicion of affray. He has since been bailed.”
