A 300-year-old North East pub has been sold after its owners decided to retire.
The Holly Bush Inn in the village of Greenaugh, Northumberland, has been sold by specialist property adviser Christie & Co.
Dating back 300 years, the pub was originally an old drovers inn.
Now, it is a "beautifully presented" establishment with a reputation for its ales, locally-sourced food, and charming accommodation, the estate agents said.
The inn features seven en suite bedrooms, four of which are in an adjoining cottage.
Set in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, the Holly Bush Inn is a popular spot for tourists and "staycation" guests.
It is also an ideal stopover for commuters, being just a 30-minute drive from Hexham, and an hour from Newcastle and Carlisle.
Owners John and Lynne Thompson ran the pub for six years before deciding to sell to allow them to retire.
They said: "We've had the most marvellous time running the Holly Bush for six and a bit years, but now it’s time to move on.
"Marslie at Christie & Co was a great help during the sale, helping push things through when they seemed to stall.
"We offer our best wishes to the new owners, or should we say guardians, of the Holly Bush Inn, a fabulous old pub."

"We expected a high level of interest from prospective buyers, and weren’t surprised when it sold quickly.
