A road has been closed following a crash near the entrance to the Great Yorkshire Show.

Police have closed Rudding Lane in both directions from the A661 Wetherby Road to Pannal Road following an incident on Tuesday afternoon. 

Traffic leaving the Great Yorkshire Show, in Harrogate, is currently being directed to the A658 - with AA showing delays along the busy route. 

It is not currently known how many vehicles were involved in the crash, or how long Rudding Lane is expected to be closed for. 

The Great Yorkshire Show said: “There has been a serious road traffic collision (RTC) on Rudding Lane near to the entrance to Rudding Park Hotel and the road is currently blocked with the police in attendance.

“Show traffic leaving the brown car parks will be directed to turn right onto Rudding Lane towards the A658 and traffic leaving the green car parks will be directed left towards the A658 joining the one-way system.”

AA Traffic News said: “Road closed and slow traffic due to a crash on Rudding Lane both ways from A661 Wetherby Road to Pannal Road. 

“Detour in operation - traffic leaving the Great Yorkshire Show is being directed to the A658.”
