A person has been hit by a train sparking a major 999 response.
Emergency crews have descended on Northallerton railway station this morning (Monday, June 30) where a person has been struck by a train.
Disruption is expected on services between York and Newcastle all morning.
The person’s condition is not known.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “We’re currently dealing with an incident alongside other emergency services at Northallerton Railway Station.
“There is likely to be delays in the area for some time. Please use alternative routes where possible.”
An LNER spokesperson added: “We are currently experiencing disruption to services across to LNER route due to a person being hit by a train at Northallerton.”
The British Transport Police, North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service have all been contacted for further comment.
