A retail giant has erected closing down signs in the latest blow for a town centre.
Next on Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, is due to shut next month with signs confirming it will close its doors permanently on Saturday, July 12.
The chain - which also has stores at Teesside Park, Skippers Lane and Hartlepool - has yet to confirm the news but staff say they have been told to find other work.
Next sells clothing, footwear, and home products and has around 700 stores globally. It is the largest clothing retailer in the UK and is the latest in a string of shops to announce they're closing in Middlesbrough.
M&S shut their 122-year-old Middlesbrough store in April last year and others including Poundland, H&M, Boots, Debenhams, and Chuckling Cheese Company have also closed their doors for good.
The Northern Echo has contacted Next and the property owners for comment.
