A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash in Durham that left three people in hospital.
The 32-year-old was taken into custody after the smash by The Honest Lawyer on the A167 in Croxdale, Durham, just before 4pm on Wednesday (June 11).
Two vehicles were involved in the crash - and three ambulances were sent to respond. In total, three were taken to hospital for more treatment.
The arrested man has been released under investigation.
A full police statement reads: "Police were called at 3.55pm yesterday (June 11) following a two-vehicle collision on Browney Lane, near the A167 roundabout.
"The driver of one of the vehicles – a 32-year-old man – was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and taken into police custody.

A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson previously said: "We received a call just before 4pm this afternoon to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision outside The Honest Lawyer in Croxdale, Durham.
"We dispatched three emergency ambulances and a duty officer to the scene. Three patients were transported to University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment."
