One person was trapped in a car in a smash in Stockton on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the junction of Allison Street and Victoria Street, the A1035, and Bishopton Lane shortly after 3:30pm on Tuesday (June 10).

Two cars were reported to have been involved with the fire service saying one person was trapped in one of the vehicles and needed to be freed.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "The fire brigade are also in attendance, as well as ambulance".

Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed they were called at 3:38pm to reports of a two vehicle collision.

Motorists have been warned of delays in the area as both vehicles require recovery.

It is not yet known if any of the people involved in the crash suffered any injuries.

North East Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
