Hundreds turn out for Darlington Race for Life 2025

Participants walked, ran and jogged to raise money for Cancer Research as they tackled the five kilometre course around Darlington's South Park.

It is an annual event, with tens of thousands of pounds raised each year for the charity which puts funding towards new treatments for cancer.

Seas of people wearing pink - the charity's colour - ran round the park, many with the names of people they were honouring and remembering while they took on the five km race.

Denise Craven said: "Well done research into treating cancer is the reason I’m alive nearly 14 years since diagnosis."

"My daughter took part for the first time and finished in 19 minutes."

And Linda Ainsley said "Well done everyone it is a great thing to do all of you."
