Search the Public Notice PortalODEON has announced the opening date for its new Middlesbrough cinema - soon set to feature an IMAX screen, luxury pods, and VIP beds.
The popular cinema chain will soon open the doors to its latest location at the former Cineworld, off Marton Road in Middlesbrough town centre.
The building has been closed since January, with crews then quickly moving in and transforming the space while erecting new ODEON signs.
Now, the official opening date of the cinema has been confirmed as Tuesday, June 10 - with tickets on sale ahead of the launch.
ODEON Luxe Middlesbrough will be home to 11 screens in total, although its website suggests only four will be open initially, with all others “coming soon”.
Fresh details have also been revealed about the cinema, with each screen being home to recliner seats, “pitch-perfect Dolby Atmos sound, and flawless 4K projection”.
As well as standard and XL screens, there will also be a special Luxe suite, featuring 68 two-seater Luxe pods.
It will be home to an IMAX screen with laser projection, the first on Teesside, with the nearest IMAX located at the Metrocentre in Gateshead.
The complex will also boast a limited number of VIP beds, which can fit three people and provides “unrivalled legroom so you can stretch out”.
As previously reported, ODEON confirmed in mid December that it had secured a new agreement to take over the former Cineworld.
The announcement marked the return of ODEON to the town centre, having previously owned a cinema on Corporation Road before it was demolished in the mid 2000s.
The unit operated as Cineworld for around 23 years before its closure, and was one of several earmarked for closure last year.
Prices for the new ODEON start from £7.50, with new film releases on offer including Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Disney’s live action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch.

Food, drinks, and tipples will be available at Oscar’s Bar, named after ODEON’s founder and paying homage to the golden age of Hollywood.
Guests will benefit from four hours’ free parking in the leisure parks-owned car park.
There will also be a limited-time offer of free parking after 3pm in the extended France Street car park, which will be available from June 10 until August 29.
