Jordan Fucile: Peterlee dad took his own life, inquest rules

Jordan Fucile, 28, from Peterlee, was found dead on December 17 last year by his ex-partner, Chloe Morrison, at his property on Troutbeck Road, Peterlee. 

Mr Fucile, who his family has described as having "a heart of gold" was found near a multi-gym by Ms Morrison, who alerted a neighbour, before emergency services arrived on the scene. 

Despite paramedics performing CPR and attempting to save Mr Fucile's life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jordan Fucile with ex-partner Chloe Morrison (Image: UGC/FAMILY) At an inquest into his death on Tuesday (June 3) at Crook Coroners' Court in County Durham, it was heard that Mr Fucile had been meeting mental health professionals for several years, while also struggling with alcohol and substance abuse. It was noted at the inquest that Mr Fucile had no drink or drugs in his system at his time of death.

During the inquest, conducted by assistant coroner of County Durham and Darlington, Dr Leslie Hamilton, it was heard that the 28-year-old tried to take his own life on several occasions and had regular contact with his GP over his mental health struggles.

Jordan with then partner Chloe and step-children Carson and Lacey-Lee (Image: UGC/FAMILY) At the hearing, the inquest heard a statement from his GP, Dr Felix, from Horden Group Practice, who said that he had met Mr Fucile on November 18, but was told that the County Durham dad-of-three had no intention of taking his own life.

But, later in the hearing, the inquest heard that breakdowns in relationships between him and another ex-partner led to his mental health "spiralling".

The fact Mr Fucile couldn't see one of his children due to "complications" over family relationships impacted him most, according to a statement read out by the coroner from Jordan's mum, Angel Fucile.

The 28-year-old was also awaiting assessment for an Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).

Assistant Coroner Dr Hamilton recorded an inquest conclusion of suicide.

Following Mr Fucile's death, tributes poured in for the 28-year-old. 

Former partner Chloe Morrison previously told The Northern Echo: "Jordan was so outgoing and adventurous - he had a love for the gym and a close relationship with his religion.

"He was just a cheeky and funny person who had a heart of gold. He had a long battle with mental health - there isn't enough help out there for people who are struggling.

"Jordan has taken my heart with him. I am just so heartbroken - my heart will never be the same again."

His family and friends also set up a fundraising page in his honour, raising almost £1000 on a GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs.

He leaves behind his son Jackson, two, and step-children Carson, seven, and Lacey-Lee, four, who was "the daughter he never had".
