Man charged with attempted murder after Eston house fire

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a house blaze in Eston. 

Emergency services were called to California Road at around 7.25pm on Monday, May 26, following a fire at the front of a home. 

Police erected a cordon at the scene, with pictures showing the torched and damaged white front door of the property.

The woman in the home was thankfully safe and well.

Cleveland Police has now confirmed that Jonathan Price, 53, is set to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court this morning charged with attempted murder. 

Price, whose last known address is California Road in Eston, has been remanded in custody until his court appearance on Wednesday.

The force said enquiries remain ongoing.
