TripAdvisor: Yannis Lanchester has over 100 'perfect' scores

Yannis, a Lanchester takeaway and sit-in restaurant, has got 107 'excellent' reviews on TripAdvisor, the highest score that can be given by users on the website.

Serving traditional Greek favourites like souvlaki and gyros, it can be found in the County Durham village on Front Street.

It has been praised by members of the public on the site for its 'attentive' staff.

One reviewer said: "Lovely night at Yannis tonight for a family birthday. First visit but won't be the last.

"Everyone enjoyed their food, fantastic value for money and the loveliest staff who were welcoming and attentive and did everything possible to make the night special."

Another, who ordered a takeaway from the venue, said: "Ordered a takeaway from here for a family birthday celebration. As this was a gathering of 14 people, we placed a large order consisting of numerous dishes.

"We placed the order via telephone, then able to collect in 30 minutes. Everything we ordered was of very high quality and worth every penny spent.

"Mixed Grill is highly recommended and a perfect chance to try a bit of most meats this place has to offer. Nothing was an issue, with the service being nothing short of excellent.

"There will certainly be repeat takeaway orders and every member of the family are looking forward to returning. Hoping to head down for a sit in meal very soon too!"

Labelling the restaurant an 'exceptional find' Erion Prendi said: "We love Greek food so we gave it a try and it turned out to be a very good decision, food was great.

"I had pork and it was surprisingly tasty which you don't usually find around the place and in similar Greek restaurants. All in all a great experience and great service."
