A man was left with head injuries after two suspects set fire to an outhouse, smashed windows, and assaulted him in an attack.
The incident happened at around 5:40pm on Sunday (May 25) on Valiant Way in Thornaby.
Officers were called to the scene following reports that suspects had approached a house, set fire to an outhouse in the back garden, and smashed windows at the rear of the property.
A 42-year-old man was then assaulted during the incident. The victim sustained what are believed to be minor injuries to his head.
The suspects fled the address, possibly in a black Alfa Romeo.

Police enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, as well as anyone with doorbell, dash cam or private CCTV footage that could assist.
