Sharpley Golf Club, Seaham, has lodged a planning application with Durham County Council to build an additional ten bays on its current single-storey structure.
The new bays will cover an area of 201 square metres and will be constructed using timber cladding and pressed metal to match the existing design.
A new structure will add 223 square metres of non-residential floorspace to the club and will be operational from 6am to 9pm every day, including bank holidays.
The site, used as a putting area, shows no adverse ecological impacts, and a biodiversity net gain requirement has been addressed.
The site is not in a flood risk area, and water disposal will be managed using a sustainable drainage system.
Foul sewage will be disposed of via the main sewer.

A public notice issued on May 22 by Durham County Council confirms the application receipt and invites objections or representations within 21 days of the notice publication.
The declaration was signed by the agent Roger Vila on May 2.
Proposals will now be considered by the planning department before a decision is made on whether to approve the development in the coming weeks.
