A man has denied causing serious injury to a cyclist by dangerous driving at a junction on a rural road.
Martin Nichol will now face trial after the crash with a cyclist, at the junction of Bleach House Bank and Stillington Lane, near the County Durham boundary with Stockton, on April 26 last year.
But the case won't be before the court until January 2027.
The cyclist was thrown onto the bonnet of a Ford Focus, hitting his head on the windscreen, which smashed, before landing on the road next to the vehicle.
Paramedics tended to the casualty on scene before he was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, suffering what, at the time, were considered to be life threatening injuries.
