A teenager is fighting for his life after being thrown from a quadbike during an A66 crash.
Emergency services were called to the major road near Grangetown on Sunday after a red Honda quadbike collided with the side of a blue Peugeot 3008 at about 3pm.
The 19-year-old rider was thrown from his quad, leaving him seriously injured, and he was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Cleveland Police has confirmed his injuries are considered to be life-threatening.
The busy road was closed by police at the junction with Church Lane, with AA reporting queuing traffic around the scene at the time.
A statement from the force said: “A 19-year-old man has been left seriously injured following a collision in Eston on Sunday.
“The man was riding a red Honda quadbike and collided with the side of a blue Peugeot 3008 at about 3pm.

“He was thrown from the quad, sustaining serious injuries which are considered to be life-threatening.
“The rider was taken to James Cook University Hospital.”
