Residents and commuters in villages around Darlington are being advised of upcoming roadworks in the area, with two key projects scheduled to begin and continue into the Easter holidays.
Multiple roadwork near Darlington revealed for Easter
Drainage improvement works on Rockcliffe Court, Hurworth-on-Tees have started today (Monday, March 31) and will last for approximately two weeks.
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation throughout the works to manage the flow of vehicles and minimise disruption.
In addition, Croft Road will be closed from Monday, April 14, during the Easter school holidays.
This closure will allow for Safe Route to School work to be carried out, aimed at improving safety and accessibility for pupils and families travelling to and from school.
While the road will be closed to traffic, footpaths will remain open to ensure pedestrian access is maintained.
A signed diversion route will be in place during the Croft Road closure, directing traffic via Roundhill Road, the A66, and Croft Road.

The council has confirmed that access to Hurworth School and the Grange will still be available from Hurworth village.
Darlington Borough Council are encouraging drivers to plan and follow diversion signs while works are in progress.
The works are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements to enhance road safety and drainage in the area.
