The RAF Red Arrows will return for the Great North Run 2025.
The infamous flying display team will be back in the North East for the world’s biggest half-marathon, scheduled to take place on September 7.
The team flying over the Tyne Bridge is normally a huge spectacle of the event - but last year the group were unable to take part due to being across the pond in Canada.
They spent most of September last year in Canada, performing at the Canadian International Air Show, followed by the Airshow London.
When the 13.1 mile Great North Run kicked off in 2024, they were instead performing at the Aero Gatineau-Ottawa in Canada.
But now, the Red Arrows display dates for the remainder of this year have confirmed they will in fact be back for the 44th Great North Run.
With 60,000 entrants expected to take part, the run raises an estimated £25 million every year for a string of charities.
While the ballot has already taken place for this year’s event, you may still have a chance of joining the start line via a charity place.
The GNR website states there are still some incredible organisations that could take you on their team for the event - although these places get snapped up quickly.
