Third person arrested after 'violent incident' at Redcar bar

Cleveland Police has confirmed that a 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in police custody.

It follows an incident at the Peggy Junes Bar on Queen Street on Saturday (February 15) when a violent altercation broke out just after 8pm.

Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, although these are not believed to be life-threatening. 

Police confirmed on Sunday that a 33-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman had been arrested in connection with the incident, and were hunting for two other men believed to be involved.

The force has today (February 17) confirmed that a third arrest has been made in connection, while the other two arrested remain in custody.

As previously reported, a cordon was erected outside the bar on Saturday following the incident, with police officers seen standing at the scene. 

The front of Peggy Junes was also left damaged.
