Protesters have been spotted gathering outside of a Reform UK conference in County Durham today (February 1, 2025)
Videos taken in Houghton-le-Spring where Reform UK are holding a party conference at Sunderland Live show protesters chanting.
The gathering of people can be heard shouting “racist scum, off our streets.”
Police can be seen surrounding the group as they carry on chanting.
Meanwhile, large queues have been spotted outside of the Reform UK conference as people hope to see Nigel Farage.
The conference is expected to start at 3pm and last for two hours with Nigel Farage expected to make a speech towards the end.
On social media site TikTok, before the conference, Mr Farage said: “Dear North East member or supporter, I’m coming up to the North East.
“Elections are taking place on May 1 in County Durham, and in Northumberland.
“And I tell you what, our party is really on the march.
“This Saturday, the first of February, I’m going to be just outside of Sunderland at Houghton le Spring.
“Big venue, lots of parking. Bar opens at 1.30. Event begins at 3. Please come along and support us.
“I tell you what, we’re on the verge of really making history, you’re a part of it.”
