Beamish Museum is looking to recruit new staff for a range of roles.

The popular County Durham attraction has announced a number of job opportunities across its site, from the 1820s to the 1950s.

Roles include food and beverage team members and engagers in the museum's towns and rural life exhibits.

Beamish is holding a recruitment fair on Tuesday, February 4, from 2pm to 7pm, where people can find out more about the vacancies.1900s town1900s town (Image: Beamish)

The open-air museum is looking for food and beverage engagers to join the team, serving classic fish and chips and 1800s-inspired meals in the Drovers Tavern.

There is also an opportunity to join the team as an engager in the 1900s town, working in the Jubilee Confectioners shop or black-leading a kitchen range.

The museum is also looking for people to join the cleaning team, and the mining life team, which helps visitors immerse themselves in the 1900s mining village.1950s town 1950s town (Image: Beamish)

In the 1950s town, there are opportunities to help welcome visitors to the Grand Cinema or assist with events such as tea dances and the annual pantomime.

The rural life team is looking for people to show what life was like on the Home Front during the Second World War at the 1940s farm, demonstrate traditional rural skills in 1950s Spain’s Field Farm, or welcome visitors to 1820s Pockerley Old Hall.

Beamish is also looking for people to join the entrance team, providing a friendly first and last impression for every museum visitor.Cleaning teamCleaning team (Image: Beamish)
