Police have released CCTV images of a man after a lone shop worker was doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight during a shop robbery in Peterlee.
The burglary occurred just before 7am on Saturday, January 25 at a store on Oakerside Drive.

He then demanded money before fleeing with a quantity of cash.

CCTV images of a man police wish to speak to in connection with the incident have been released.

The full Durham Constabulary statement reads: "Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following a robbery in Peterlee.
"Shortly before 7am on Saturday (January 25), a man entered a local convenience store on Oakerside Drive and doused the lone shop worker in petrol, before threatening to set them on fire.
"The suspect then demanded money from the shop worker and made off with a quantity of cash. Thankfully, the shop worker was left physically unharmed but was understandably shaken by the incident.
