When it comes to winter coastal walks, England’s Bamburgh Beach has taken the crown as the best destination, according to a new ranking by outdoor retailer GO Outdoors.
The picturesque sandy beach in Northumberland scored an outstanding 9.83 out of 10, beating out other notable locations across the country.
Factors such as rainfall, temperature, daylight hours, and visitor popularity were analysed to determine the ranking.
Situated on England’s North East coast, Bamburgh Beach offers breathtaking views of the nearby Farne Islands, which are renowned for their puffins, seals, and other diverse wildlife.
Despite average winter temperatures of just 5.5°C, visitors say they are "captivated" by the beach’s stunning scenery.

Coming in second place is Dorset’s iconic Durdle Door, with a score of 9.64/10.
This destination is famed for its striking limestone arch, formed around 10,000 years ago.
The beach attracts over two million annual Google searches, cementing its place as one of England’s most popular coastal spots.
Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire rounds out the top three with a score of 9.50/10.
Known for its sheltered position from coastal winds and a convenient free car park, this sand-and-rock beach draws over 760,000 Google searches each year.
Visitors often describe it as "great for a winter walk," reflected in its excellent Google review score of 4.8.
