Rare prototypes from the personal collection of Action Man and Action Force designer Bob Brechin are to be sold at auction.
The items will be sold at Stockton-based auctioneer Vectis Auctions as part of 'The Bob Brechin Collection' sale on Thursday, January 16.
The sale will include 106 lots of items from Mr Brechin's personal collection, including several prototypes which offer a glimpse into the creative process behind the famous toys, as well as ephemera and paperwork with original ideas and notes.
Mr Brechin served as the chief designer at Palitoy from 1967 to 1984, and played a pivotal role in managing the Action Man and Action Force lines.
The auction gives enthusiasts a chance to bid on items from Mr Brechin's own collection, which reflects his significant contributions to the toy industry.
Among the highlights of the auction are the rare prototypes, including a Palitoy Action Force metal prototype Australian Jungle Fighter Series 1 figure used on the display diorama at the 1982 British Toy Fair, which has an estimate of between £100 and £140.

There are several other lots of test figures and photographs, which were used by Mr Brechin to develop the toys.
All of these lots come with a personally signed certificate of authenticity, with a short statement regarding the creation and development of the figures.
There are also a number of Star Wars figures from Mr Brechin's personal collection to be sold.
These include several Kenner Star Wars vintage loose figures - Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, plus others - which have an estimate of between £100 and £140.
These figures are described as 'generally fair to good' condition.
