Darlington Hippodrome pantomime stars Su Pollard and Lee Mead appeared on ITV's 'This Morning' on Thursday where they discussed the show's opening night and celebrated the art of panto.
Pollard and Mead are set to star in the Hippodrome's panto Sleeping Beauty which opens on Friday.
Talking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Su said she loved panto, adding “We’re still kids, aren’t we?"
The Hi-de-Hi! star plays the villain of the story and said her aim was to see children "carried out" of the Hippodrome because of how evil she acted: “You’re acting with a capital ‘A’ and sometimes if I’ve had a terrible morning I’m going to say ‘right you lot, you’re really going to get it! I really want to be the evil witch.’
“It’s the most marvellous thing, because it doesn’t really matter how bad you are – I don’t mean bad at performing hopefully, but a bad baddie.
“I get upset if a child isn’t carried out in the first five minutes because I’ve obviously not done my job right!”
