Enquiries have been launched in Hartlepool after reports of a bleeding man wandering the streets.
The man had sustained injuries to his face and legs - but when approached by police, he declined medical assistance.
A spokesperson for Hartlepool Police said: "Officers are currently in and around Oxford Road after attending a report of an injured man in the street.
"Just before midday today, Tuesday, July 9, a member of the public reported seeing the man had injuries to his face and legs.
"On officers’ arrival the man declined medical assistance and enquiries into the exact nature of the incident and the identity of anyone else involved are ongoing."
