Police have remained at the scene of what has been described as a "garden fire" in Darlington from the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews were called to Eastbourne Road in Darlington just after 3:15am this morning (July 8) following reports of a blaze at a property.
Pictures from the scene show the garden filled with fire-damaged items and remnants of a gate having been burnt off.
No cordon has been put in place.
A spokesperson from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue (CDDFRS) said: “Shortly after 3.15am today (Monday), we received a report of a garden fire at a property on Eastbourne Road, Darlington.
“Firefighters attended the scene and successfully extinguished the fire using hose reel.”
Durham Constabulary has been contacted for more information.
