A man has been taken to hospital by air ambulance after bad crash on a rural County Durham road.
The incident happened at about 1.35pm today (July 7) at the junction between the A68 and Cornsay Colliery.
The accident involved just one vehicle and three ambulances, a specialist paramedic and the air ambulance were sent to the scene.
The man involved was taken to hospital by the air ambulance.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 13.35 this afternoon to a one vehicle road traffic incident on Hedleyhill Lane in Durham.
"We sent a duty officer, three emergency ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic and the air ambulance.
"One male patient was transported to hospital by air ambulance."

The road is not expected to re-open for some time.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "The B6301 Hedleyhill Lane, is currently closed between the junction at Ivesley Lane and the junction of the A68 in Tow Law due to a road traffic collision.
"It is likely to be closed for some time, please use an alternative route."
