A popular Durham pizza shop, that has served up authentic New York-style pizza slices, has reopened, months after having to shut down.
Brooklyn Pizza Slice, which has been serving up the "best pizza in Durham" since 2016, has opened a new permanent stall in Durham Market.
Brooklyn Pizza Slice's former store, located at 3 North Road, in Durham's city centre, closed down in January 2024.
Despite opening between pandemic lockdowns, and whilst the North Road bus station redevelopment was underway, Brooklyn Pizza Slice weathered the storm, with crispy base pizzas and unique flavour combinations earning it a cult following in the student city.
Though choice to shut the shop left the business owner "gutted" at the start of the year, the shop has bounced back, and reopened with a permanent stall in the indoor market last week.
This is a return to old stomping grounds, as the authentic New York style pizzeria started out at Durham Market.
