A train operator has confirmed there will be a limited Southbound service from Darlington station today (June 11) due to damaged overhead wires.

LNER have confirmed there will only be 12 Southbound services stopping at the station due to “damage to the overhead electric wires.”

They have also confirmed the Northbound service will remain unaffected.

They have warned travellers to check their journey before departing.

An LNER spokesperson said: “Due to damage to the overhead electric wires at Darlington, only 12 Southbound services will stop there today.

“Northbound services are not affected.

“If you are travelling Southbound to or from Darlington, please check your journey before travel.”
