It is set to be a dry and cloudy bank holiday weekend in Darlington and County Durham as the Met Office predicts some sunny spells and "average" temperatures.

Following a wet and miserable week filled with non-stop downpours and torrential rain, it's set to be a drier weekend across the county.

On Saturday, temperatures will reach a high of 17C, staying at an average of 16C on Sunday.

Saturday is expected to be mostly dry but rain is set to begin at around 8pm, and continue throughout the day on Sunday.

Moving in to a new week, Monday is predicted to be slightly more sunny with high temperatures of 16C.
