Here are some of the people to face justice at Teesside Crown Court recently.

They include a serial shoplifter, a drug dealer, robber and violent man amongst those in court.

Jonah Rochester, of Marshall Close in Hartlepool, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm; grievous bodily harm with intent; intentional strangulation and assaulting an emergency worker. The 28-year-old was jailed for nine years and three months for the attacks on two women. A restraining order was put in place, banning him from contacting his victims for the ten-years.

Nathan O’Brien, of Leven Road, Norton, Stockton, pleaded guilty to two robberies on the High Street in January this year. The 21-year-old targeted a BetFred on January 2, and at a nearby laundromat around two weeks later. He was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

Thomas Campbell who was jailed for 54 weeks for a spate of shoplifting offences around the Hartlepool area. The 41-year-old, of Eton Street, Hartlepool, admitted stealing clothes, chocolate and household goods from shops between January and March this year. Judge Jonathan Carroll also activated a suspended sentence.

Islam Guul was sentenced to six years and three months after admitting two charges of possession with intent to supply heroin and cannabis. The 64-year-old, of Magdalen Street, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, was caught with 62 grammes  of Class A drug heroin when he was arrested on August 21 last year. He was also carrying a quantity of Class B drug cannabis.

James Hall was given a six-month sentence suspended for two years after pleading guilty to a raft of charges including intentional harassment alarm or distress and did so with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence. The 35-year-old, of St David's Close, Spennymoor, also admitted using threatening language, possession of a knife and driving offences following an incident on September 17 last year. He was also ordered to attend rehabilitation activity requirement days and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.

Michael Walsh, of Sorbonne Close, Thornaby, was involved in a violent confrontation outside Morrisons of May 23 last year. He pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm following the altercation. The 64-year-old  was handed a four-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months. He must complete 30 rehabilitation days, comply with a three-month curfew and pay £400 compensation.

Scott Wood, of no fixed abode, has been locked after he was convicted of two counts of making threats to kill. The 37-year-old was jailed for months for threatening to kill a member of staff at Roseberry Park hospital while he was Middlesbrough police station on November 24 last year.
