A motorcyclist who died after a collision with a car on Christmas Day suffered multiple injuries, an inquest heard.
Anthony Inwood, 35, was on a Honda CRF 250 motorcycle with a 16-year-old boy when there was a collision with a Hyundai i10 travelling in the opposite direction.
The incident happened on Durham Road in Spennymoor at about 3.30pm.
The father-of-two died as a result of his injuries later that day at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

A post-mortem examination was carried out by a Home Office Pathologist at Newcastle RVI Mortuary on Boxing Day.
Dr Sam Hoggard gave the cause of death as a blunt head injury.
The inquest was opened at Crook Coroners’ Court on Monday.
Coroner’s officer Carole Prested said: “I understand the circumstances to be that rider of a motorcycle which was involved in a road traffic collision with a car.
“He was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered a cardiac arrest at the scene. “He died in ICU shortly after his admission to Hospital.”
The inquest has been adjourned pending further investigations.
