An officer suffered a minor injury as he intervened when a loose dog attacked a dog who was being walked last night (May 21).
The incident happened on Harrow Street, Hartlepool, as the officer 'deployed a taser' as he held on to one of the dogs.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Last night just before 5.30pm officers were on Harrow Street in Hartlepool on an unrelated matter when an unaccompanied dog attacked a dog who was being walked by its owner.
"A taser was deployed as an officer had hold of the dog and the officer sustained a minor injury during the process.

"The animal was then seized and removed to an appropriate facility whilst enquiries continue.
"A 27 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control in a public area."
