The Met Office has predicted warm weather for the North East today with the region expected to see sunny spells and isolated showers.
The forecaster has said the morning will see a cloudy start with mist along the North Sea coast, before cloud makes way for periods of sun.
They have said there will be isolated showers during this time, which will remain persistent near the coast.
Cloud and the occasionally bit of rain will return as we make our way into the evening.
The Met Office report said: “Cloudy start for many, with mist patches, especially along the North Sea coast, although some brighter intervals possible.
“Cloud breaking to some warm sunny spells, and isolated showers, but remaining persistent along the coast where it will stay rather cool.
“Low cloud spreading inland from North Sea coasts through the evening and overnight, with the odd spot of rain or drizzle. Perhaps some heavier bursts around dawn.”
