The construction of a new pharmacy adjoining a North East medical centre has begun and is expected to take three months to complete.

Pharmacy Express has confirmed the development of their new pharmacy, located next to Nunthorpe Surgery on Stokesley Road in Middlesbrough, is making progress.

Work began on the site on May 13 and is set to take 12 weeks to finish.

Iqbal Singh, managing director for Pharmacy Express, said the company are delighted to be making progress on the pharmacy and is excited to begin operating from the site.

He said: “We are delighted to be making progress with our new pharmacy. We know how important this will be to patients of the surgery, Nunthorpe and the wider community.

A spokesperson for Borough Road and Nunthorpe Medical Group said: "The construction of the new pharmacy adjoining our Nunthorpe Surgery has started today (with Seymours as the main contractor).

"The anticipated programme is for 12 weeks."
