The North East is set for rainy and cloudy weather today according to the Met Office.
The forecaster has said the region can expect a mostly cloudy morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
It added the cloud will slowly clear to allow for a day with dry and sunny spells.
The weather will become cloudy again as evening approaches with light rain expected later in the night.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the morning.
“Cloud slowly breaking up to allow dry and warm sunny spells in the afternoon, especially inland.
“Low cloud building through the evening to become extensive and accompanied by drizzle later in the night.
“A risk of showers and sea fog along coastal areas.”
There will be a maximum temperature of 19 °C today, with the region expecting a minimum temperature of 10 °C tonight.
