Beamish Museum welcomes around 800,000 visitors every year - so it is no surprise that it takes a team of over 350 paid staff and 400 volunteers to keep the attraction ticking over. 

The most popular paid attraction in the North East is searching for a fresh crop of people to join its team at we move into 2024. 

With seasonal vacancies listed on their website, you could be doing everything from frying chips on a period-appropriate coal-fired range, to making decisions about the future of the museum on their board of trustees. 

Here are some of the roles that you can apply for right now - do you think you have what it takes to work at this world-renowned museum?

  1. Seasonal Entrance Team Member, Working in the visitor experience team. Pay: £11.70 an hour. 
  2. Chief Philanthropy Officer, in the Partnerships and Communications team. Pay: £60,000 per annum. 
  3. Food and Beverage Engager, in the Operations team. Pay: £11.70 an hour. 
  4. Digital Communications Manager, in the Partnerships and Communications team. Pay:  £32,085 - £36,040 (dependent upon experience).

5. Chef, in the operations team. Pay: £24,318 per annum. 

6. Fryer, in the Operations team. Pay: £22,582 - £23,259 dependant on experience (pro rata for part time).
