Police are investigating a suspected arson attack at a Teesside home.

Two people reportedly smashed the window of the terraced property before using an accelerant to start a fire, Cleveland Police said.

The incident happened on Beaconsfield Road in Norton at about 10.30pm on Friday (April 19).

The property was vacant at the time and it’s understood no one was injured.

Police believe two suspects were involved and are treating the blaze as arson.

A spokesperson for the Cleveland force said: “We are appealing for information as detectives investigate a suspected arson in Norton.

“It was reported that two suspects smashed a window of the property before using an accelerant to start a fire.
