Dogs Trust Darlington: Seven dogs looking for a forever home

Dogs Trust Darlington has plenty of rescue dogs looking for a forever home this month.

We have compiled a list of seven pups hoping to bring some light into their new owner's lives.

Pixie

At the top of the list is Pixie, a crossbreed who loves sunbathing and is 'a working breed and very high drive'. Pixie would thrive in an adult home where she'd be the only pet, with caregivers dedicated to continuing her positive reinforcement-based training.

Charlie

Also featured is 5-year-old Charlie, another crossbreed with a gentle nature, who, according to the centre, 'can't wait to spend his days snuggled up on the sofa with you!' Charlie adores company and would get on well with other dogs or children of primary school age.

Zeus

If you have older children, consider Zeus, a large Doberman, who despite his size, has 'a big heart and is pure amazingness.' This friendly chap meshes well with older children and other dogs and would thrive in a home with confident handlers.

Milo

There's also Milo, a tender-hearted Bedlington Terrier.

He'll be your best friend once he knows you and charms everyone with his penchant for a vigorous game of fetch.

Experienced owners should note Milo's sensitive ears, which require regular care.

Scooby

Comfort-loving Scooby, an affectionate Patterdale Cross Terrier, who will soon turn 11, is looking for his ideal retirement home.

He will need a home without other pets or younger children.

Jasmine

Jasmine, a sweet Jack Russel Terrier Cross, nearing 7, who craves a quiet home with older teens or adults.

She will need a home without other pets or younger children.

Charlie

Alternatively, for those with a bundle of energy, young Collie Cross Charlie is the perfect match.

This one to two-year-old 'super busy lad' adores an active family and would blissfully blend with other dogs or children aged over 8 years.

These dogs, each with their own unique character and charm, require committed and loving owners who will fulfil their needs, provide them with the right environment, and understand their individual personalities.

Rehoming these dogs is not just about providing a home, it's about matching the right dog to the right people.

The centre said they are looking for owners who appreciate their traits, extend patience, and offer the dedication these wonderful creatures deserve.
